The health and well-being of all students, families, and the instructor is a priority. To help maintain a healthy learning environment, students should not attend lessons if they are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness.
Students should remain home if they have experienced any of the following:
A fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher within the previous 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication).
Vomiting or diarrhea within the previous 24 hours.
A persistent or uncontrolled cough that significantly interferes with instruction.
A severe sore throat accompanied by fever or other symptoms of illness.
An unexplained rash or symptoms of a contagious condition.
Red, draining, or contagious eye infections (such as conjunctivitis/pink eye) until no longer considered contagious.
Any illness for which a healthcare provider or school recommends remaining home.
Students should be:
Fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to lessons.
Free from vomiting or diarrhea for at least 24 hours before returning.
Well enough to actively participate in the lesson.
If a student is unable to attend due to illness, families are encouraged to prioritize their health. In accordance with the studio attendance policy, a written practice assignment and lesson objectives will be provided whenever practical.
Students who are experiencing mild cold or allergy symptoms but feel well enough to attend are encouraged to wear a face mask to help reduce the spread of illness. Disposable masks are available in the studio for any student who would like one.
Likewise, the instructor may choose to wear a face mask if either the instructor or a student is experiencing mild illness or lingering symptoms. This decision is made as a courtesy to help protect the health of everyone in the studio and will not affect the quality of instruction.
If a student becomes ill during a lesson, the lesson may be ended early, and a parent or guardian may be contacted for pickup if appropriate.
When possible, students who are mildly ill but feel well enough to participate may request to switch their lesson to an online lesson with reasonable notice.
Families are encouraged to prioritize health. If a student is unable to attend due to illness, a written practice assignment and lesson objectives will be provided in place of the missed lesson whenever practical.
Thank you for helping keep our studio healthy for everyone.
